Rocky Fest in Lyons, CO

Hello Everyone,

Had a great time in Lyons, CO at Rocky Fest. It was a great 3 days of music and weather. The performances of note were David Wilcox(of course), Liz Longley, Tift Merritt, Ano DeFranco, JOhn Prine, Greg Brown and several others. Just alot of great music.

Really need to work on getting Tiff and Liz to Indy to play in the series. Of course, Mr. Wilcox will be coming back in November.

Newport Folk Fest.

Hi.

Sorry I am so late with entries but really been busy with music related projects. The Newport Folk fest was excellent.

The person that shocked me was Steve Martin, the comedian guy. He can really play the banjo. The Sweel Season put on a unreal show. They are very talented and I am going to look into getting them to Indy. Richie Havens played a great set as he still can really perform. Liz Longley surprised me the most as she writes great songs and has a wonderful voice. Look for her to possibly show up at the series in Indy too.

Right now, I am in Colorado at Rocky Fest. Looking forward to getting this thing going. All the great ones are here with David Wilcox, Jonatha Brooke, Swell Season, Tift Merrit, Ani Defranco and a few more like Amy Speace, Liz Longley and Vance Gilbert are here too. Looking forward to a great festival.

Falcon Ridge Festival news

Hi Everyone,

Sorry that it has taken me a bit to write something about the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. Just been a wee bit busy trying to catch up on sleep.

Weather was the same as it has been the past several years. It did rain a couple days but the showers were never too long or too bad. It just added to the party is all.

Great shows by John Gorka(as if that is a shock), Eliza Gilkyson also put on a wonderful show. A few others were Amy Speace; she will be performing at the series in Indy on April 16th. She is a pretty good songwriter and a great voice. So you want to make sure you see her. Vance Gilbert put on a good show. It's been a while sinse he has played the series so I will try to get him back. Red Molly's put on a great show with great vocals and harmonies, I tried to get them in INdy last year but the timing didn't come together. So look for them to pass our way in the future.

I am resting now in Canandaigua, NY sipping wine by the lake. I will be leaving thursday to head to Newport, RI for the Folk Festival. Looking forward to working there.

Festivals and my usual Summer tour

Hi Everyone,

I am taking a break from my wine tasting up here in the Finger Lakes Wine Region in upstate NY. I have been here for a couple days before I head over to do the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. The wine and weather is pretty good up here, so far. I am sure it will rain once I get to the festival as it always does every year.

By now, I hope you have looked over the website and you see that some shows have been added. A good lineup for sure and there will be a couple more added to round out the season. Check back often as there will be some nice surprises I am sure of it.

Well, I am geting thirsty so I must go. Take care and enjoy your Summer.
